Alternate Secretary Viviene Moore Owner House of Lights ALF Viviene grew up on the island of Jamaica. I attended Buff Bay High School, yet shortly before I was to graduate I had to resign because my family did not have the money to pay for my tuition. Nevertheless, I later received my license as a Sign Language teacher which allowed me to teach Sign Language to the deaf and mute for 12 years. Thus, before having my youngest daughter who is now sixteen, I decided to move to the United States. But, in February of 1999, a few days before my 36th birthday, my loving mother became ill, and I did not know what had happen why she became ill so quickly. So, I took her to my health physician and he told me that she had obtained a stroke that was causing an 80 percent blockage in her artery, but by this time, my mother had already acquired a heart condition without even knowing. Needless to say, she denied having any form of heart surgery, so I decided to take care of her. However, during this time, she was becoming more ill, and she ended up becoming bound to a wheelchair. Unfortunately, in September of 2001, she passed away. At that particular moment, everything about my life changed. I enjoyed taking care of my mother. Seeing her struggle through her aliments led me to join the medical field in hope to help those in similar situations like my mother. After receiving my license in administering patient care, I started working in hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. While working in these different facilities, I noticed a great deal of senior citizens losing their ability to be independent. This made me begin to reflect back on my mother, and I asked myself the question what if they were my mother. Inevitable, this is when it dawned on me to try and make a difference in the lives of our senior citizens in the community, especially since I am a mother of four children and a grandmother. I have come to the realization that I too will eventually become a senior citizen, and for that reason, God has made it possible for me to take great delight in caring for those in the elderly community.

Alternate Treasurer Rachel McLain
Business Development / Case Management Rachel McLain brings over a decade of experience in marketing development and operations within the senior industry.
Rachel served as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army during Operation Enduring Freedom. Her passion of working with the military and the elderly were partnered when she entered the senior living industry, working for Careage, Inc., an organization offering home health, assisted living and skilled nursing care in Washington State. Rachel began her journey with Careage as the Office Manager of Patriots Landing, an assisted living dedicated to retired military and Veterans. During her 9-year tenure with Careage, Rachel moved into roles of increased responsibility, serving as Corporate Marketing Director and Interim Administrator at other assisted living facilities within the Careage network.
Rachel was fortunate to also spend over two years serving as the Executive Assistant to a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General John M. D. Shalikashvili, USA (Ret), who had been disabled by a stroke, paralyzing his left side. Until his death, Rachel served as his Executive Assistant and care coordinator for 24-7 private duty home care. Over the past 15 years, Rachel has personally cared for both a disabled mother and grandmother, experiencing the journey of finding placement, private duty home care and hospice care from the client’s perspective. Rachel relocated to Florida in 2015 and now serves as the Client Relations Director at the Law Office of Amy B. Van Fossen, P.A. Her role includes business development, client relations, and case management.

Board member Jacquie Esterline Director of Community Relations RiverView Senior Resort
I have an unexpected 20+ year’s experience in the senior market. My experience includes care giving and care managing for my parents. My mother had issues with depression and my father with Parkinson’s disease, while at the same time raising 2 children. Thru the years working in Assisted Living starting in Pennsylvania I was not only a Director of Marketing but also functioned as a Case Manager. Coming to Florida allowed me to branch out and explore healthcare here. I began as a volunteer with Leezas Place (Now Health First Memory Disorder Clinic) and then I decided to really get my feet wet and became an Ombudsman which gave me a wonderful opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at most of the care scenarios available to seniors from small family care homes, big assisted living communities and skilled nursing/rehab centers. It was an awesome experience that I still put to use. It then became apparent that I needed to change from Volunteering to acquiring a real job so I found myself jumping from working in an Assisted Living environment to working for Home Instead Senior Care. Over the years I have made some transitions, back into a community for 5+ years then back to Home Care for 5+ years only to find my heart strings pulling me back to an Assisted Living Community. RiverView is not just any community, it is a beautiful, warm and caring community that has a primary goal of caring and nurturing our senior population as well as creating a fun, invigorating and stimulating living experience. Over the years I have also been involved with many organizations that focus on keeping our seniors safe as well as educating and supporting seniors on issues that may affect them. I am currently involved in TRIAD, Parkinson’s Support Group and Honor Flight.

Board Member Joel Ludlow Relator at Curri Properties Joel’s Real Estate Career started in 2009 when he was approached by John Curri to join Curri Properties and assist their team with their constant flow of Buyers and Sellers. Real Estate can be time consuming and frustrating for Buyers and Sellers in today’s market, but having a full time agent such as Joel can be great for taking the weight off client’s shoulders, alleviating stress.Joel is a 20 year plus resident of Brevard County and cherishes the Florida lifestyle. He relishes in the fact that he can raise his children with his beautiful wife Charlsie in such a gorgeous setting.
